Good Girl;-)

Udgivet: 13.07.2018

"Keep going!"

The taxi driver looks relieved at the street sign.

"Almost there!"

We and the driver can't help but laugh. Obviously we're really in the right place here and not about to fall off the edge of the earth.

"Gypsea Yoga!"

Arrival.

The bumpy road led us to Liz, the owner of Gypsea, and our teacher for the next 90 minutes (100,000 IDR).

With us were Lisa from Australia and Dania from Kiel, as well as a lot of ropes, blocks, chairs, cushions, and blankets, which form the foundation for the yoga style (new for all of us).

Liz teaches 2 classes a day, started the retreat from scratch, and was originally from Canada. In the 1970s, she moved to Australia with her family. Five years ago, she opened the retreat in Lombok. Liz is a great teacher, she corrects, praises (Good Girl, Caroline / Josephine), and is fully engaged. Small, wiry, "no judgments, let go". Nevertheless, she seemed sickly, with a strong cough and yellowish eyes. Yesterday, her brother arrived, Bob, not the construction master, but the eyewear master. Typical American (except he's not), also a teacher; strong neck, relatively small and large belly; AND a very noticeable pair of glasses. Photos follow, because with the extremely charming Bob (and Dania and other people), who officially moved to Lombok yesterday, we are going to the largest waterfall on the island tomorrow.

The class was different... but beautiful. We feel very stretched. Afterwards, Caro had a mango smoothie bowl and another smoothie as a drink.

Today we spent the rest of the day at the beach/pool with Dania. Actually, today was the first time we went into the sea in Lombok (after all, it was finally there), which ended with Caro being attacked by a fully loaded diaper and me being bitten in the crotch by an ominous creature with two small mean teeth. Caro suggested using the diaper to stop the bleeding. We can conclude: nature is dangerous. I decided to go to the pool in the evening to seek cooling as a lobster under the shower, while Dania and Caro did something for their figure maintenance and went to eat. In a warung- Warungs are small local eateries, mostly family-owned by locals. Similar to a snack bar. Besides banana pancakes and large amounts of smoothies (is so much fruit healthy?!), there was nasi goreng (surprise!) and spring rolls.

Regarding the photos: the last pictures show Dania's outdoor room at the yoga retreat. There are 3 or 4 mini cottages and the room as shown in the photo.
