When we were in Swakopmund, we took a day trip to Cape Cross. The first European settlers arrived at Cape Cross. However, we didn't go there for that reason, but because there is a huge seal colony there. After a two-hour drive on salt roads through the desert, we finally arrived. It was much smaller than we thought, and there was only a lodge and a small house at the entrance of the park. There were thousands of seals, it smelled very bad, but it was very impressive. It was very surprising to encounter such a large group of animals in such a barren environment.
On the way back, we stopped at a shipwreck, which was shrouded in clouds and mist and looked very impressive.
