These sea days await us with some highlights and breathtaking views: We sail through the incredible glacier landscapes of Patagonia with our beautiful Kussmund ship. We experience views like from a picture book of glaciers and fjords. Through narrow passages and past the highest mountains of Patagonia.
As is usual in Patagonian spring, we experience all four seasons in one day: from wind and rain to the occasional snowflake and beautiful sunshine.
In the early morning, the view of the glaciers in the Glacier Passage Alley is fantastic, but thirty minutes later we are enveloped in thick fog. By noon, individual snowflakes whip across the deck and huge waves roll against the rocky shores of the passing coast.
Today around noon, we head towards the Amalia Glacier and turn around. With the stern facing the glacier, we can enjoy lunch with a view of the eternal ice. Then we continue to take a look at another branch of the glacier. As we approach slowly, we launch a dinghy to take film shots of the ship and the glacier. There is a mix of sun and clouds, providing good visibility.
