Breakfast at 8 o'clock. George made me a delicious pancake with feta cheese and honey. I left right after breakfast. The first ascent was tough, but since the path went through the forest, the walk was very pleasant. The challenge during the hike is to have the right amount of water with you. It is frustrating to carry every kilo up or down the mountain. Since the supply of fresh water on the way is uncertain, you can easily miscalculate. I have made up my mind to carry 0.75l as a reserve. That worked out well until the first cistern today. So I filled up properly (4.5l) for the second ascent. Because the next opportunity is only in the afternoon (and also uncertain) The second ascent was accordingly challenging. But then standing above the clouds felt appropriately good. The trails are only marked where you don't need them. So I strictly follow my GPS. Some scree fields have earned my respect. I would have preferred to crawl across them. When I reached my campsite in the afternoon, I was really relieved. Here at 1,900 m, there was complete silence and loneliness, I haven't encountered anyone since I set off. The night was pretty cold. I had to gather everything to be able to sleep at all.
