We were leaving Cobbold Gorge village in the morning and our first stop on the way to Karumba was in Forsayth for breakfast in a little park next to the main street. There were an old train, car, train station and other historical things on display, so Stuart was keen to have a walk. Also a good spot for some bird watching.
Next stop on the way was the small town of Croydon, where we drove along the main historical street to have a look at the old buildings. The train station was just a new metal shelter, so not worth to visit.
In Normanton the historical Gulflander train was at the main station. The doors were open, so Stuart decided to go on the drivers seat before walking through the train to find the loo. The Gulflander train still operates between Croydon and Normanton Wednesdays and Thursdays return.
If in Normanton, one has to stop by at the apparently life-size saltie statue on the main street. Stuart thought the saltie looked cute and just hopped straight into its mouth.
From Normanton on we left the Savannah way and moved on to the Matilda way up to Karumba for some relaxing holidays at the sea...
