Hello everyone! 🤗

Tomorrow marks one week since I arrived on the island. Time is flying by sooo quickly! It's already very late (03:30 AM), so it's possible that I might forget to mention something from the past two days, but I'll do my best! 😊

01/04/2018: On Thursday, Sophie (the Belgian girl from the diving course) moved into my room. We get along really well and it's nice to have someone to chat with (and we're also saving 350 THB/night each 😅). We spent almost the whole day by the pool, enjoying the sun and relaxing. It was very nice!

In the afternoon, we moved to the beach and waited for our friends who were returning from their dives in the evening. Gina, the Dutch girl, had finally passed her Advanced Open Water course, so we celebrated together. The dive resort has its own bar called Fishbowlbar, where there is live music every evening. I mean EVERY evening! Crazy, right? But also really nice. We had a lovely evening in a friendly and international atmosphere, which perfectly rounded off the overall relaxed day.

01/05/2018: Today, Sophie, Naz (Thai diving instructor), and I took a boat to Koh Nang Yuan, a very small neighboring island of Koh Tao.

We borrowed snorkels and masks and spent the whole day in the water. We saw countless fish! For example, 'Dory' (from 'Finding Nemo!') swam past us. 😅 We were even lucky enough to see a few squids. There were also some needlefish and butterflyfish. Maybe I'll manage to sort through some photos and show you what these fish actually look like. But I still need some time for that. It was a wonderful afternoon, though.

Before we headed back, we took a walk on the island to a viewpoint where we could enjoy a magnificent view. Take a look:

Beautiful, isn't it?? 😊😊
By the way, whenever I have the chance, I walk around with my camera, but most of the time I actually leave it in my bag or in the room. Nowadays, phones can take such beautiful pictures that a camera seems more cumbersome and annoying. But today, I had it with me and I was very happy about it. I bought it specifically for the trip because it's so small and handy:

That's it for today. Tomorrow, Sophie and I are going diving again. Keep your fingers crossed that we can see a whale shark!!! 😊 They're known to occasionally visit here and are THE highlight for the diving scene in Koh Tao.
I hope you're doing well. Until next time!
