Since it took us over 4 hours to reach our last stop in New Zealand, Paihia/Bay of Islands, there is not much interesting to report today. Except maybe that we only drove about 250km in these nearly four and a half hours. It's about the same as driving from KL to Johanniskreuz to Annweiler, only 250 km at once and the roads are worse and narrower. Oh... did I already mention that they all drive on the wrong side here😉?
However, the journey was worth it, because we arrived at the beautifully located Morepork Riverside Lodge, which is a bit more rustic than our last accommodation, but is idyllically situated on a small river and also houses free-roaming chickens, a cat, and 2 alpacas besides overnight guests. Furthermore, we have two wonderful hosts, Barb and Paul, who told us about their stays in Bad Kreuznach while enjoying a cold beer with us 😊.
In the evening, we met Susanne, a colleague of Brigitte from Hanover, who is on a 5-month tour of New Zealand with her husband and happens to be in Pahia at the moment.
