Wave power

Udgivet: 08.08.2023

The first thing we want to say today is a big thank you to our readers. We are overwhelmed every day by the number of people who visit our blog. Up to 750 readers, we can't believe it. I suspect that Vakantio has been hacked and they have implemented a bug that always adds a zero to the actual number of readers. That's probably how manipulated elections work too. I can't explain the high number otherwise. But still, thank you for your interest, wherever you read us🥰.

Today we took it slow. Yesterday, the cold baton was passed on to Schahaatz, who is now struggling with it. So we only drove on Hwy 72 and 61 (which together form a loop road) and were impressed by the forces of nature.

at Sandy Beach.

Here Schahaatz absolutely had to go bathing, the waves looked too tempting, but they were powerful.

The lifeguard constantly warned about the dangerously strong waves over the loudspeaker and announced that families should use the safer beach section 10 minutes away.

Here is only for "professionals". When Schahaatz finally made it back to the shore, he was exhausted. The currents and the power of the waves were overwhelming. Then it was also clear why the bodysurfers mostly wore short fins, at least with those you can make some progress.

But in the end, everything was fine, nothing broken, and after a few minutes, Schahaatz could speak again😁.

The Baywatch mermaid in action

At the beach, I noticed some girls with really weird tattoos again. What do $$$ above one knee and 1996 above the other actually mean? Does that mean the year 1996 is expensive? Or I was born in 1996 and I'm a pretty expensive or rich bit...? Or I didn't know what to tattoo on my body, so I chose these tattoos?

And today at the beach, we also asked ourselves what motivates an American to get a German flag and Made in Germany tattooed on their back?

First, a drawer opened - right-wing extremist - drawer closed. Only patriots do that. Until Schahaatz simply asked and we took "Carl" out of the drawer and explained him as a normal person.

Carl and his bro

Carl's parents were stationed in Germany (at Rhein-Main Air Base) and he was born in Germany. When he was 2 years old, they went back to the States, and today he is 35. He got the tattoo about 10 years ago, and it represents what he carries in his heart. A deep connection to Germany.

And how nice that we can always open our drawers again and enrich our lives with new people and stories.

We're hitting the road again.

In the northeast, the weather wasn't so nice anymore, but the sea was calmer.

We drove back to the sun over the mountains. A short stop at Pali Lookout.

Still delicious dinner at Moani with live music.

Beer chicken

And he had real stamina. One hour without even the smallest break.
