Morning Pic
We wake up in the rain, it has been raining all night.
We drive to the kitchen with "Little Rudy" and have breakfast there. We also prepare the food for tonight, because we don't know where we will end up.
The kids from the surf camp are already having breakfast and are struggling with the wind and the cornflakes. A girl asks me if we are Christians and is completely enthusiastic when we confirm it. She says that many people she asks don't even know what Christians are.
We still give away the rest of our olive oil and are waved goodbye. A Kiwi gave us the tip this morning not to drive to Gulf Harbour, but to Devonport. From there, there is also a ferry to Auckland that only takes 10 minutes. When it comes to "what is Auckland like", we again get the answer: not so great😏
Nevertheless, we take the ferry from Devonport and even have luck with the weather and it doesn't rain as predicted.
We walk through Auckland for 2 hours and can now confirm: not really beautiful.
Back in Devonport, we walk through the town and have a Happy Hour drink and sweet potato chips
before driving to Takapuna Beach to our last campground.
Wild camping is not possible in the greater Auckland area....
A small campground by the sea, stormy and lousy weather. While cooking, we get to know some nice Aussies.
Then we pack and clean up🤪 and drink all the wine supplies.
After a walk through Takapuna, the last night in New Zealand begins.
