At 9:00 AM, it was time to say goodbye to Diamantina. The plan for today was actually to drive to Conçeiçao and visit the Bom Jesus de Matozinhos Monastery. However, the route was deemed unsuitable for our large buses at short notice, so we changed our destination and made our way to 'Fazenda Vidigal', a coffee plantation in the state of Bahia, where we were originally scheduled to arrive the next day. We drove all day, only stopping twice for a short break, and finally arrived at 1:00 AM. The owners of the plantation, the Vidigal family, had arranged mattresses in the village so that we could all stay with them at short notice! In addition to comfortable mattresses and blankets, we were also treated to a delicious snack upon our arrival in pouring rain before we all tiredly settled into our accommodations. A big thank you goes out to the Vidigal family for spontaneously accommodating us, welcoming us in a super friendly manner, and providing us with a wonderful stay!!!
Apologies for the lack of entries for so long, but our internet in the accommodation is not sufficient for the website. But don't worry, there will definitely be more entries, albeit with a delay!
