Finally, a belated update from our time in Portugal and Spain.
After spending time with our families and friends in Germany, we were drawn back to the Algarve in Portugal.
Just a few minutes after landing at Faro Airport, we realized that this country has become a little piece of home for us. Many memories from last year came flooding back. The six months were a very special time for both of us.
We spent a week with three friends from Germany in an apartment in Lagos.
It was a great feeling to stroll through the almost empty town with familiar faces, visit the beaches, and take a quick dip in the freezing cold sea.
Then Michi had a workation with his team, which now consists of 17 people. The days were filled with workshops on process analysis and developing the company's vision. But we also had delicious food and had fun with a go-kart race and a yoga session.
Then it was Bianca's birthday. We started the day with a picnic at one of the most beautiful places in the world, a beach near Vila do Bispo, right on the Atlantic coast. In the afternoon, we went to Monchique, where you have a panoramic view of the entire Algarve coast. We ended the day with a delicious meal at one of our favorite restaurants in Lagos.
Then it was time for us to pack our backpacks and head to Spain.
We would have loved to spend more time in the Algarve, but our travel plans for the summer currently look different. However, we are sure that we will return to the Algarve, as we have truly fallen in love with this place.
The week in Barcelona was honestly a bit disappointing for us.
High cost of living in the city, mandatory mask-wearing everywhere outside of our apartment, and the hustle and bustle of the city led us to spend a few quiet days in our apartment and organize everything for the upcoming adventure.
After two PCR tests and several online forms, we then flew to Georgia with a short layover in Istanbul.
Currently, we are in the capital city of Tbilisi with a few friends and look forward to what the Caucasus has in store for us in the next few weeks.
We will keep you updated - so stay tuned!
