Today we started the first stage of a 4-week Scandinavia trip at 7 am. The T2b Westfalia Bulli has been under the knife all winter to prepare for the 5,000 km journey and to experience something in its old days. And we are looking forward to spending a long time with it.
Of course, we did not manage the 6+ hours indicated by Google. After all, we can only drive a maximum of 110 and that only if you want to push the Bulli. It is more comfortable for everyone to drive at 90 km/h. With the usual breaks, it took us about 8 hours.
A wise man once told me that 'for 5,000 km you only need 10 daily stages of 500 km each' - and since you can't deny that, our first stage destination is the nearly 600 km away Husum. We want to spend most of the time in Norway and Sweden, so we want to cover as much distance as we and the Flying Dutchman Tommy are willing to take on in the first few days.
Tommy has a 71 hp engine, original and was recently overhauled. With a weight of only about 1,300 kilograms, you usually get up the mountains well. Here, the mountain and fjord roads of Norway will push us to our limits - I think. But of course, you must not be intimidated by that and just let everything come your way.
We are still full of anticipation and optimism for the weeks to come. In the next few days, we will enjoy the west coast of Denmark all the way up to Skagen. Then we will take the ferry to Oslo, where we will have our first experience of 'wild camping', which you would never experience in Central Europe, and want to stay in a public parking lot. We are excited!

Once we arrive at the campsite in Husum, it's time for us to relax. Today there is no time and certainly no desire left to cook and wash up. Therefore, we have to go to the campsite restaurant. After that, a short walk on the Wadden Sea, letting the wind whip in our faces.
It was actually just as cold and uncomfortable as it looks here. But in the freshly made bed and with the desire to drive far into Denmark tomorrow, we warmed ourselves.
Tomorrow we will go from Husum via Ribe, the oldest city in Denmark, to Lemvik, where we will make a stop for one night on the way to Skagen.
