Day 23. Hello Pippi

Publicatu: 23.06.2017

Hello everyone,

today we're going to Pippi Longstocking, Michel, Ronja and all the others in Astrid Lindgren's world.

A themed park about Astrid Lindgren in Vimmerby. The park is only 16 km away from our parking space in Tuna. Although there is a parking space right next to the park, the price for overnight stay is outrageous. As always, when it comes to such parks, I approach the matter with skepticism and think to myself, selflessly as I am, the most important thing is that little one and Tascha have fun.

Let's go.....2 adults and one child. (Consti is free at his 9 months)👏🏻.....A smooth 115€ 😳.

At this point it should be mentioned positively that Nala is allowed in the park with us.

Alright, pay 💰 and then go in. But what awaits me really blows me away. The whole park is designed as a gigantic playground and everything, really everything, can be touched and played with. There are several stages in the park, where scenes from Astrid Lindgren's stories are performed several times a day. Since everyone, really everyone! goes towards Villa Villekulla 🏃, we decide to go to Matiswald first and look for Matisburg. We arrive at Matisburg and the first of 4 theater plays of the day starts.

We immerse ourselves in the world of Ronja Rövardotter, I am completely captivated and enthusiastic about how great the plays are made.
And even though all the actors only speak Swedish, Lotte, who doesn't know the story yet, is sitting there completely captivated and following the action on the castle intently. A huge thunderstorm ⛈ and the crack in the Matisburg occurs. My goodness, I feel like a little child again. The first part is over. Now the children are allowed in the Matisburg to play. For us it means moving on, but I have already looked in the program booklet when the next performances of Ronja are.
We now walk to Katthuld to Michel or as he is called here, Emil.

We see how Michel puts the soup bowl on his head and pulls little Ida up the flagpole. Simply great and as you may notice from my choice of words, I am now completely convinced of this park. I have never seen anything so great for children, without any loud music or blinking colorful lamps everywhere. There is not a single ride in this park! The whole park is simply one big playground! You can play on the rooftops with Karlsson-on-the-Roof and slide down with felt 30 slides.

In the meantime, we also attended the 2nd performance of Ronja. Now it's time for lunch break and to recharge. Then we go to Villa Villekulla, because Pippi's father is being kidnapped by the pirates there.

This show is also well made, although I found the representation of Villa Villekulla a bit disappointing.
Now we quickly go to Matisburg again and watch the last part of Ronja. Although all the plays are really well done, Tascha, Lotte and I agree that Ronja Rövardotter is the best.

A long day is slowly coming to an end. Since the 2 children are sitting in their car seats like they've been shot, we decide to drive a few more kilometers to the north. We reach Nyköpping and arrive there very late. We are lucky to get the last free spot at the harbor, which is not too expensive for 0€. :-)
What can I say after this long day besides.......

Until tomorrow.......
