Can you still fly it, or should we call it propellers...?

Publicatu: 16.03.2020

...Question from Mareike this morning around 8:00 am, when she saw our ten-man machine with which we flew to Maui. 😅

At 6:45 the alarm clock rang, we packed our last things, dropped off our backpacks since we only travel with carry-on luggage, and ordered an Uber around half past seven, which took us to the airport.

Upon arrival, we had no idea where to go, unfortunately our travel documents did not show the terminal, however, Oahu's airport has three terminals. 😅 After unsuccessfully checking in at Terminal 2, we were told that we were at the wrong terminal and had to take the airport shuttle to Terminal 3.

After a ten-minute ride, we arrived at Terminal 3, a small hut with about 15 seats. Behind it were the airplanes, no larger than ten-man machines. We checked in and drove back to the other terminals to have breakfast. Because there was nothing at our terminal, except a water dispenser. So we went to Starbucks, ordered two sandwiches each there, which we really enjoyed after a week of pancake breakfast, and then drove back to Terminal 3.

There we waited for about an hour until both of us flew to Maui with four other people. Mareike and I sat in the front row, almost on the pilot's lap. 😂

After a 35-minute flight, which was really pleasant, we landed in Maui. We looked for WiFi and ordered an Uber, which took us to the hostel.

Upon arrival, we were able to check in immediately and received our room right away. We booked a twin room in advance, which was just as expensive as a dormitory.

However, I was so tired from the previous nights because we couldn't really sleep due to our roommate and we stayed up a little longer yesterday. That's why Mareike and I decided to 'take a short nap', which turned into almost 2 1/2 hours. 🤦🏼‍♀️

When we woke up again, we decided to do a big shopping for the next few days in Maui. We looked for a supermarket closest to our hostel, 2 kilometers away. 🙃 So we took a little walk of 25 minutes and went shopping for almost 1 1/2 hours. 😳 Since it's even more expensive here in Maui than in Oahu, we thought twice about what to buy and what to leave in the store.

After our shopping, we sat down at a café and had corn dogs for the first time, which I really liked, but Mareike wasn't a big fan of it. 😅

Then we ordered an Uber again, which took us back to the hostel. With our shopping, we didn't feel like walking two kilometers back.

In the hostel, we cooked dinner and did nothing else. 😴

Greetings from Maui, Hawaii! 🌺🇺🇲

Yours, Jojo 💫
