Hello Canberra

Hello my friends,

we started our day relaxed with breakfast in the camper because the weather was once again very lousy. 😟 After that, we continued our journey to the south and decided at short notice to make a detour to Canberra, the capital of Australia.

After about three hours of driving, we arrived in Canberra, found a parking space, and explored the city. This time we even stayed dry! We visited the 'Australian War Memorial' where we participated in a ceremony. Every day, a fallen soldier from World War I or II is commemorated. Family members lay down wreaths and music is played. We also briefly visited the Australian Parliament and then went shopping quickly.

After the trip to Canberra, we went to the campsite we had chosen for the night. But when we arrived there, to our disappointment, the campground was closed. So we had to find a new one, an hour away. By now it had gotten darker and the roads were not well built, so one hour quickly turned into 1 1/2 hours. 🙄

Finally, at around 9 PM, we arrived at the campsite and were able to stay there. 😊

For dinner, we had leftovers from yesterday and a salad. After that, we played 'Mau Mau' and 'Phase 10' while drinking our wine. 🍷
