Day 12 - dreamy

After the night, I feel exhausted - thank goodness there are electronic devices that can help pass the time. The rats end their concert around 8:00 am - I refrain from applause, it had its lengths - and we get up. We only eat a few apples because we forgot to get something for breakfast. Ashamed to have to complain again so soon, we go to the two operators of the camp and answer the question of how we slept with tough: 'Oh well, not so good'. This is not the first time the two have heard about the problem - their son, who has also stayed there before, thought there were monkeys in the attic. As loud as the critters were, they could have been monkeys, but I don't think they would fit through the finger-thick cracks. We ask if we could move to the room below us. 'No problem at all, gladly' is the understanding answer and the man helps us move. We repeat the procedure of the previous day (unpacking, mosquito net, etc.). In the new room, the air conditioning can even be adjusted and there is also (still) no gecko in the bathroom - jackpot!

We need to go shopping and want to explore the area a bit - so we take the fastest way to the beach. It's deserted - I think because it's low tide and you can't swim - but incredibly beautiful.

Because we're thirsty, we stop at a beach bar where there are actually people. We drink, as you might expect, iced tea and a cola, and then settle into a kind of pavilion on the beach where we can catch up on some sleep.

Feeling well-rested, we set off again to buy a few things. Once again at BigC, we get food for breakfast and unfortunately forget mosquito repellent candles.
With the groceries in hand - heavier than expected - we make our way back to our bungalow. After a quick refreshment in the camp's pool, we discover another gecko in the room, this time not in the bathroom but in the bedroom. In a 30-minute evacuation operation, we manage to drive the animal out of the room with the help of blowing and a broom. Off to bed - for a quieter night!
