After a really tiring 18-hour drive, we booked our dives in Marsa Alam in the morning. We went directly to the dives even though we were a bit tired. In the afternoon, we planned to go to the beach but we found out that there is no beach here. Either you take a taxi to the resorts or go to the remote beaches a few kilometers away from the center. In the evening, we wanted to have dinner and smoke Shisha, but we realized that there are only two restaurants here.
Since all the dives would have been done from the beach and not from the boat, we decided to go to Hurghada the next day. Surprisingly, we got our money back for the dives without any problems.
Arriving in Hurghada, we went directly to the boat the next day. It was shocking how crowded it was here. One boat after another, with more than 50 people each, left the harbor. The divers were poking around in the corals, dive instructors drove the animals out of their holes, touched them, and even sat in the corals. We had to be careful not to collide with other divers, it was so crowded. The other two days were more relaxed and we did some interesting dives (deep diving, wreck diving). There is not much to say about Hurghada, it is only built for the tourist masses in the resorts, lots of shops but not much to see. However, the food is highly recommended, just like in the rest of Egypt, if you go to the right places and not the fancy restaurants at the harbor. But I don't think I'll be back that soon, the North Africans are just not my friends...
