After not feeling well yesterday morning, we left Addo relatively late (10:30). Along the way, we stopped in Jeffreys Bay to stretch our legs and admire the surfers. There weren't many waves, so we mostly looked at the sea :-) Then we went to the Paul Sauer Bridge, an arch bridge (a good example of quadratic functions 😆). After that, we visited the 'Big Tree,' which is over 800 years old, over 40 meters tall, and has a trunk circumference of over eight meters. Then we went to our accommodation. Today, after breakfast, we headed to Tsitsikamma National Park. There, we hiked to the Suspension Bridge. Mom claimed she wouldn't cross it, but proof photos show that she dared with support. Then we, or rather Mom almost, climbed to a lookout point. It was steep uphill the whole time, partly over stairs. On the way back, we saw rock hyraxes, which have a visual resemblance to marmots. We arrived exhausted at the bottom and treated ourselves to a delicious lunch snack. Then Mom put her feet in the sea while I snorkeled a bit. There weren't any super cool fish to see, but I was able to collect some beautiful seashells. The hike also took its toll on Mom's shoes, as the sole partially came off one shoe. Now we're a bit tired and later we'll go to the village for a bite to eat. Tomorrow we'll continue to Knysna, where we'll stay for three nights.
