The great advantage of traveling without a plan is that you don't have a plan to stick to. This fact came in very handy for me recently. In Sapa, another backpacker told me that I absolutely had to do the Ha Giang Loop. So, on Friday morning, I got on the bus at 8 o'clock and drove the almost eight hours to Ha Giang. Ha Giang is not only the northernmost city in the country, but also the starting point for the so-called Ha Giang Loop - a guided motorcycle tour through the mountain scenery along the Chinese border. For three days, I was supposed to conquer breathtaking passes, experience picturesque landscapes, and feel the adrenaline of steep descents - at least that's what was promised beforehand. And now I can say that every promise was kept. Since my own experience with motorized two-wheelers is limited, I decided to go with an Easydriver - a local who takes care of the driving for me. This also has the advantage that I can relax and enjoy the view. Although "relax" is relative, as it is more exhausting than expected to hold on to the motorcycle on steep mountains.
Unlike the previous blog posts, this time I don't want to lose too many words. The pictures speak for themselves in this case. Have fun watching :)
