Already the next morning we know for sure that buying the mixer was a good idea. We chop papaya, mango, banana and then sprinkle muesli and nuts on the smoothie. DELICIOUS! We spend the rest of the morning planning our stay in Bali and go out to eat. We picked the small Balinese restaurant (Warung Bubu) on the internet. When we enter the restaurant, the owner tells us that she can only offer us a few dishes because she is going to the temple soon. May sound strange, but we find it charming and that's exactly how we imagined Asia: ) The food and juices are delicious despite this.
We spend the afternoon at the pool and go out again in the evening to try another restaurant (Warung Prima). This visit is also not ordinary. The owner tells us that she can only offer us the leftovers of the day, as all other supplies are gone. We assure her that we will stay anyway and she disappears into the kitchen. When we have the "leftovers" on our plate 10 minutes later, we are surprised. Looks great, tastes fantastic and is the size of a regular main course. Since the older lady apparently feels guilty, she comes back minutes later with another plate from the kitchen. She has also made fresh corn fritters and beans with sauce for us. Unbelievable.
She sits down with us and tells us about her children and is happy that her small restaurant is doing so well. Her husband and she run the restaurant alone and she describes, laughing, how she has to wake her husband up at 4 o'clock every morning because he has to buy the ingredients for the day fresh at the market. We are impressed by her open, lovable manner. Of course, we promised to come back. When we finally get the bill, we are surprised once again. For food, drinks and a coconut, we pay just under 6 euros in total. Can't complain.
