After I've been on the road for 30 days and cycled 1.700km I was very happy to be welcomed as a guest by Helen and Lee, Ben's parents who lives in Truro. I had the feeling that I needed some time to relax and to recover. I also wanted to spend time with Helen und Lee and see where they live. It was very warm welcome with cornish cream tea and lots of talking. The next day Lee took me to the most beautiful places of Cornwall. First stop was in Porthleven, a cute harbour village attacked by huge waves. Not far away we passed St Michael's Mont, the little english Mont-st-michel, but without a bunch of tourists and with a relaxing atmosphere. Of course we had cornish pasty for lunch which is a great invention to have delicious food on hand. Along the Northcoast we past a nice long beach with the Godrevy lighthouse, came trough Portreath and climbed up the st agnes beacon with an amazing view.
Next day I had a nice walk through Truro guided by Helen. I got to see all the old houses, the huge cathedral, the historical leftovers and a nice craft market with really beautiful little things.
In the end I stayed a night longer as planed, because I really enjoyed the company, the sightseeing, having breakfast/lunch/dinner together and just relaxing with a cup of tea. Thanks Helen and Lee! You made me a perfect stay.
