After a night on board the ferry from Rotterdam, we arrived in Hull in the morning. Thanks to the time difference, we didn't have to get up quite so early and disembarked strengthened by a breakfast.
It was still too early to drive to our campsite in York, so we took a stroll through Kingston upon Hull.
The city was once a significant port but lost its importance in the second half of the 20th century.
In the old town, we walked past pubs and small houses to Trinity Church in the city center. However, a crafts market was being set up in the church nave, so we couldn't visit it.
We continued to the old port facilities of the city. The former goods handling area Princes Dock has been completely redesigned with apartments, bars, and shops.
