I woke up refreshed in the morning and left my small shelter in the mountains of Bergen and returned to the city. The weather was miserable and it dampened my mood a little. However, the city was very beautiful and I was glad not to see any cruise ships. After a little exploration, I made myself comfortable in a café.
In the evening, I received a call from an old school friend who had spent a exchange year at my high school many years ago. I left my backpack at his apartment, and we went to a bar together and reminisced about the good old times, while drinking expensive beer. The tall Norwegian is in the navy and had to go to bed relatively early due to an exercise the next morning, which suited me fine because I had to climb the mountain again. So we walked around the city at night for a bit, I picked up my backpack, and said goodbye again.
Feeling a bit lazy, I took the funicular up the mountain instead of hiking. The view of the bright city was breathtaking and became even more beautiful with every meter the cable car traveled. It looked as if the stars were reflecting in the valley and becoming even stronger. On top, I wandered through the woods a bit, using my headlamp to light the way. I found a shelter hidden among the pine trees, where I spread out my tent, sleeping pad, and sleeping bag, and went to sleep.
