The diversity of Copenhagen (02.08.17)

Publicatu: 03.08.2017

For this day, we had actually planned one of the free city tours that are highly recommended on the internet. But since we got up relatively late and had already seen some of the sights the day before, we decided to venture out on our own again. With our ticket, a city map, and some provisions, we set off for the city center. First, we went to the Round Tower, from which you have a good view of the city.

Then we went to the nearby Botanical Garden, where you can hardly notice the hustle and bustle of the city.

In the afternoon, we still planned to visit the famous Little Mermaid at the harbor and Amalienborg Palace.
First, we took the path to the harbor. In retrospect, it wasn't really worth it, as we didn't see anything other than a mass of tourists. After 5 minutes of crowds, we finally got our tourist photo and then quickly moved on.

Unfortunately, it started to rain, so we decided to end our cultural program for the day and took a boat taxi and a bus back.
At home, after a short... well okay, maybe a slightly longer power nap, we had something to eat. Originally, we wanted to go to Charlottenburg Art House, which is open for free on Wednesdays from 5pm to 8pm. Unfortunately, we still haven't quite figured out the bus system, so we ended up going in the wrong direction and the visit wouldn't have been worth it anymore. But since we were already on the way, we went directly to Amagerstrand. Here, you don't feel like in a big city anymore, but rather like in a small village. We ended the evening on the pier...

...okay, I should correct myself: we WANTED to end it. But then we spontaneously drove back to the city center and walked through the streets. Copenhagen is beautiful not only during the day, but also at night!
