After breakfast, we drive to the weekly market in the garden of Villa Riccarton House. There are many exhibitors with delicious food, oils, cheese, and a baker with real bread. We buy a Bavarian bread, an old goat cheese, and chervil. There are 2 cappuccino providers at the market. The garden is beautifully landscaped with old trees. A band is playing music from the 80s and 90s. Everything is very relaxed, almost familiar. Many people sit in the grass by the stream, enjoying the food and the atmosphere. Afterwards, we go to the Air Force Museum (free admission). Malte and I are fascinated by the technology. We get to climb into 2 cockpits. In the afternoon, we drive to Lyttleton, a suburb of Christchurch, to go for a stroll. It starts raining, so we soon turn back to the city and stop at Beverlypark, where we also spend the night right by the rose garden.
