To be honest, I don't really know how to put into words what we experienced today. Michelle and I are still amazed by the incredibly beautiful landscape in Bryce Canyon. What nature has created here over the centuries is simply wonderful. And the photos don't do justice to the experience. So this trip was definitely worth it!
The Bryce Canyon National Park is known for its colorful rock pyramids, called hoodoos, on the edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. The canyon is located at an altitude of 2400 to 2700 meters, which is much higher than the nearby Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon National Park, which we also noticed in the cooler temperatures.
After initially admiring the entire canyon from above, we hiked several hundred meters down into the valley on the Navajo Trail. On our way, we encountered various inhabitants of this unique landscape and enjoyed a beautiful hike. But where there is a descent, there is also an ascent... but by now we are in good shape. :-)
