Although I have had my agreement for New Zealand since December, I only found out in mid-June which project and thus where I will be living in New Zealand: I'm going to Living Springs.
Living Springs is located in Governors Bay on the eastern side of New Zealand's South Island and belongs to the small town of Allandale. Christchurch, the largest city on the South Island, is about 30 minutes by car to the north.
Living Springs is a camp and conference center managed by a non-denominational Christian trust that owns the majority of the 450 hectares of land. Living Springs can accommodate group sizes of up to 180 people. In total, around 300 people can stay simultaneously. The groups mostly consist of children and teenagers. However, companies, political associations, church groups, and other community groups also visit Living Springs – if only to enjoy the stunning view :).
Accommodation, full board (including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner) as well as numerous activities are offered, such as:
An important part of the camp focuses on environmental education, adventure camping, and holiday programs for children and teenagers.
