To get to Teton and Yellowstone NP, we drove off-road through Logan through the increasingly green landscape. The route followed a river, the water so clear and clean that you could see the trout with the naked eye. We continued up the mountain landscape, reminiscent of the pre-Alpine region, to Garden City on Bear Lake. A wonderfully clear mountain lake at an altitude of about 2200 meters. For the night, we found a nice small campsite in the middle of the national forest. After spending the next day at the lake and getting a nasty sunburn (probably underestimated the altitude), we wanted to continue towards Teton, but didn't get far. Already in one of the next villages, in Paris ;-) , we stopped to visit a nice church. A friendly older man showed us around this pioneer structure of the Mormons. We got into a conversation and he and his wife kindly invited us to have dinner at their holiday home. Said and done. We spent the evening with Scott and part of his family. In addition, we were able to park our van on their property overnight. Nice, uncomplicated and hospitable people. The holiday home turned out to be a huge log cabin. No wonder given the size of the family...Scott and his wife had 5 children and over 20 grandchildren, plus a few newcomers who were still about to be born...just a typical Mormon family!
