Today there was a tour to Porto!

We actually found a parking garage that accommodated our van while we went on a little city tour.

I don't really like cities because it's usually difficult with dogs, you can't find parks, and often there are signs at the entrance to parks saying "NO DOGS ALLOWED". So we left the dogs in the car again and walked into the city on the Douro. Due to the fact that we didn't have the dogs with us, it was only a very short visit, but it was worth it!

I am an avowed Harry Potter fan, so of course we had to go to Livraria Lello, which really impressed me. Unfortunately, our appointment was way overbooked - yes, you have to buy a ticket for a bookshop because fans like me know that JK Rowling started her books there and then continued planning in the café next door. It was very crowded, but it would probably have been the same on another day. We had a look around, then we went into town, admired the tram, tuk tuks and electric vintage cars. Porto wants to become more environmentally friendly, which is why there is a driving ban or the instruction that everything here should run on electricity.

There were a lot of construction sites in the city, but that didn't bother me. We walked to the Douro, looked at the famous bridge and then continued on to the cathedral. It takes a lot of fitness if you do that every day, because the city is built on many hills, and it goes up and down steeply.

We also went to what is supposedly the best sandwich shop in Porto. It was a very small place, but we liked it a lot. There are tourist shops everywhere and the (Port) wine tasting, which we skipped.

On the way to the car we had the first ice cream of the year, because it was quite warm in the city.

My conclusion: I thought it was great. If you're planning a city trip, Porto has a lot to offer!
