Street is sealed & in good condition & not too much traffic so we arrived early at the accommodation, where the room, we are booked in, was locked although we had a call the other night it will be open, as the owners will have some time off at Laura Rodeo.
So we decide to drive up to Laura via the Split rock art gallery to see some old aboriginal wall drawings. In travel guides etc., it is for free, but the reality is 30$ per person and no photos allowed...The day was not quite finished, so Stuart was having a look at the tiny Laura airport. Afterwards we were looking for this big local event, called Laura Rodeo. We found the coordinates and went via the camping grounds to the Rodeo ground, where the locals gathered, watching a bull-riding competition while having beer & chips and buying cowboy boots and shirts. We discovered the 'hungry possum' pizza place and were surprised by two very yummy although pretty small pizzas.
Back at the accommodation our room was unlocked as our neighbours had sorted everything with the help of the petrol place ( cleaning people weren't informed by the owner to leave doors unlocked...). We also had to do some laundry, so started a washing machine, which we later regret while drying our clothes by a hair dryer as the owner was blocking the dryer completely...
