Beginning of a new adventure

Publicatu: 25.10.2019

Today is finally the day, the waiting is over, departure from Frankfurt, via Chengdu to Bangkok operated by Air China. We have 20 hours of travel time ahead of us with an 8-hour layover in Chengdu. The flight started with a Chinese briefing and absolutely no idea how to operate the onboard entertainment. My first thought was that it will be a long flight, especially since it was so loud on the plane that I couldn't understand anything from the movies on the tray. But what can I say, we solved the problem and were even able to enjoy relatively new Marvel movies in German. Overall, it was a rather turbulent flight, but with delicious food, meatball, coleslaw, and noodles Bolognese. In In Chengdu, we had to go through immigration, collect our luggage, and then find a place to sleep somewhere. Luckily, we have plenty of time here, immigration took about 2 hours. The good thing in China is that there are transfer areas where you can rest and sleep for free. Found and done, we slept for the next four hours because we didn't get much sleep on the plane. After a bit of rest, we checked in at 12:30 Chengdu time. The flight to Bangkok was not particularly spectacular, so we reached our hotel in Bangkok Chinatown at around 7 pm after finding a taxi driver. Check-in, drop off our backpacks, and off we went to search for food at the street food stalls, we shared fried noodles, something sweet fried, and a stuffed dumpling. We then fell into bed exhausted at around 10 pm in a really nice hotel, Hotel Royal Bangkok @chinatown.
