Today was another transfer day.
Early in the morning, I took a taxi to the airport and then flew to wintry Chicago. It is cold, naturally windy, and there is some snow.
What a contrast to the warm New Orleans, not to mention Miami.
I arrive in the afternoon and as soon as I reach the hotel, it starts pouring rain at 0 degrees.
The city is huge, with lots of skyscrapers, but it doesn't impress me as much as New York did. Still impressive, though.
I take a few steps down the avenue and I find myself in front of Michael Jordan's Steakhouse.
Naturally, I go in, especially since the weather is awful. But unfortunately, there are no seats available... 'Do you have a reservation? No. Then you have to wait.' I don't do that because there are still 3 people in front of me. Tomorrow at noon is better.
I end the evening at the Italian restaurant downstairs in the hotel. The food is okay, but the prices are really big city-like.
I hope for at least dry weather tomorrow for some sightseeing, then I'll go to MJ for lunch, and in the afternoon, I'll go to Union Station.
The 'California Zephyr' departs for San Francisco at 2:00 PM.
Stay tuned.
