And then, after a 30-hour flight, I'm home faster than I can realize. I was on the road for almost 6 months, covered around 58,000 km using various means of transport and actually circled the world once.
Very nice people are waiting longingly for me at the airport and are welcoming me back to my former life. With champagne, of course, at 10 a.m. in the morning. It's nice that some things just don't change.
Well, what conclusion do I draw now?
I have had countless wonderful experiences and met interesting and/or kind people. We saw landscapes that we otherwise only know from illustrated books or documentaries and observed animals that do not exist on our continent. In addition, I got to know myself a little better. I know what I don't mind (big dorms or dingy hostels) and I know when I'd rather turn around and leave (nagging and negative people). Possessions are stressful, the less I have with me, the freer and more carefree I feel. I have a damn nice home life. The world is big and at the same time quite manageable. And I have proof that, relatively speaking, my skin can tan too!
I am grateful and happy that I was able to experience this adventure and I am sure that I will not soon forget these experiences!
