St. Patrick's Day

Publicatu: 18.03.2017

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day for the first time in our lives. Here in Darwin, this day is a public holiday, so only the most essential things were open. Therefore, the bars/pubs were already crowded with live music and lots of beer from as early as 10 am. Everyone was wearing white or green clothing and the craziest accessories, even the babies had special onesies.

At our hostel, the party didn't start until 6 pm with a free BBQ and lots of beer. Which was pretty unfortunate for us because due to our celiac disease, we couldn't eat or drink anything. :( So we stocked up on cheap wine from the bottle shop and heated our own sausages in the pan. The Brits (English) were already too drunk and went to bed shortly after 8 pm. The other Germans here (60% of the hostel) preferred watching movies. That's why we had a fun evening with 4 French people and many Australians. We like the Australian mentality a little more every day :)

Now that we have our headaches under control, we are slowly starting to sort/pack our backpacks... because on Monday we're going to Bali :)
