Unfortunately a bit late... as the internet reception on the east coast is / was surprisingly bad.
After returning Jenny to Melbourne City, we headed straight to Canberra. The original plan was to travel along the coast between Melbourne and Sydney, but it's too cold and changeable in this region even in summer. The road is like a German motorway, limited to 110km/h. We stayed overnight on a kind of village meadow next to a public swimming pool with free toilets. The next morning we already reached Canberra.
Canberra is the capital of Australia. This place was chosen after long planning and examination, as Melbourne and Sydney couldn't agree on which city should be the capital. We learned all this and much more about the history of Canberra at the Canberra Museum. Afterwards, we visited the main places as well as the new and old Parliament. Quite interesting, but still just a city. Canberra was named one of the 10 most worth visiting cities in the world by the Lonely Planet travel guide in 2018.
In the afternoon, we drove to the coast to Shellhabour near Wollongong. Since it's still summer holidays and a long weekend is coming up, the campsites are crowded. We spent the rest of the day swimming in the ocean.
