Day 35 - 10/15/23

Today we took the cable car to Kelburn (district of Wellington) - 280m high and walked through the botanical gardens back to the city of Wellington.

The elections in New Zealand went pretty well and the previously ruling Labor Party (comparable to the SPD) clearly lost. However, the majority of the National Party (comparable to the CDU) is not enough and will form a coalition with the right-wing liberal ACT and thus avoid the populist party “New Zealand First”. The populists are really everywhere - well, there's dog shit everywhere too. We will only find out how strong the dog shit smells here after the count...
