Dear cycling community,
First, a prayer for the pagin who tried to help me bring my bike bags to the room. Tragically, it ended badly.
Goodbye to my disc herniation at 19, but I kept my apprenticeship spot.
But joking aside. The weather was great and my first 80+ tour in 2 years (since my last tour) is coming to an end and I'm still alive.
Let's see how the next 1700 kilometers go.
I need to summarize for the “tech nerds”: Currently, I'm using 4 apps for testing after failing with Google Maps on my last 3 tours.
Unfortunately, there were too many surprises.
The current app “Geovelo” is free and navigates more bike paths, resulting in taking every possible route.
Downside: Timmendorf could easily be renamed “Trampeldorf”.
But let's take it step by step: It started after 20 km with breakfast at Timmendorfer Strand. Perfect view, almost.
Walking was free, sitting on the beach costs tourist tax.
Since I will need the money in Denmark, as the motto here is: Once there, everything’s gone! (This won't be the only money joke), I have to save everywhere.
Then through a few small villages to Kiel.
Both cities are definitely worth a visit.
Nice bike paths have been “scarce so far”.
After I took an extra sightseeing round around the harbor, I unfortunately still did not reach the 100 km, but that will come...
Here there was also a funny incident. I was mistakenly made part of a promo racer spot that was being filmed along the promenade.
Now I unfortunately have to leave again tomorrow and jump in for the Vuelta, I couldn't find a way out in time...
Arrived at 6 PM then ate at the hotel. This time: Breaded goat cheese.
Bon Appetit and see you tomorrow!
