Thursday, 20.02., Lazy day !?!

The end of our big trip is approaching way too quickly. Jule is currently writing that we will see each other next week!!! We will remember this place often and with extreme fondness!

We wake up at sunrise. It's beautiful and we gaze out over land and sea. Later, we have a particularly nice breakfast spot. But then we go on a little hike to the lighthouse.

You can see our lookout room well from here. There are hidden small and large houses everywhere. It's good that the tide is low right now, because we can walk to the lighthouse island with dry feet. In between, there are always small beaches and roaring waves. And one of the many cicadas that make noise day and night. Once we reach the top, we take a successful selfie. On the way back, we watch the coastal swallows. Actually, we wanted to climb and walk along the water to the house beach, but we have to turn back. The water is too high to get past difficult steep spots. Along the way, we find beautiful seashells that will leave New Zealand.

Today it's really hot and I pant as I climb the stairs. When we arrive at the house, we immediately go into the pool. Such a relief, this cooling off. But then I (Eva) keep nagging until we also go down to the house beach and take a dip in the sea. There's even a shower here!

And then comes the lazy unit at the pool, with reading, swimming, reading, looking out at the sea, reading, dozing off! And then Brett serves us a delicious platter with a cold glass of Chardonnay. Everything is so fine, homemade - all you hear from us is mmhhh-mmhhh! That's the genius mixture - delicacies with a view of the roaring sea with spray :-)

By 19:00, we force ourselves to go upstairs, because we have to clean and pack. We have to drive to Auckland fairly quickly tomorrow to return the car. But we'll have another look at the stars!!!!!
