Let's go to Zadar, then on to Sibinik

Publicatu: 04.04.2021

We spent 2 nights in Sibinje. I started to paint my picture and Chris disappeared frequently with his ukulele. A very beautiful little bay that we left early on Tuesday morning (around 10:30 a.m.). Since we didn't have a proper place to stand or stay on the way to Zadar, we drove straight to Zadar. The road led directly along the water, here too it was very hilly and sometimes very steep, so that many not only sweated from the sun. In October 2019 we were already in Zadar and knew where we could park. We immediately made our way to the city. 35 minutes later we went in search of something to eat. It was strange that many restaurants were closed, even in such a big city. Maybe there were also missing tourists here?! We ended up at a Thai restaurant. Very tasty and something different :) Then we slowly walked back and looked for a parking space for the night. After a rather noisy night, we went shopping and waited for the sun to come out around noon. It gets really hot and the pollen are doing their job. I spent the day in the bus feeling a bit tired and Chris played in the sun. The next morning we went to the city again and bought bread and coffee. Now there was life again in the quaint old town. It was busy, even the market was open and I could buy some fruit and vegetables. Full cafes, laughing people, a nice feeling and a touch of lightness. No sign of Corona here.

We continued to Bibinje, where we had breakfast at the beach. The next stop was Biograd on the sea. Here we sunbathed a bit and I got my first scoop of ice cream. Delicious. A cute little port town that we also visited at that time. After a short walk, we continued towards Drage. A mini-village where we fell in love with it back then, here we thought we would find a parking space for the night. Unfortunately, we could already see the excavators and construction workers from a distance, and even the sweet flair is being spruced up for the tourists. So we continued to the Tisno peninsula. After a long search, we found a parking space. Finally, we could eat and rest. Since we didn't feel completely comfortable here, we packed our things and continued. It got later and later until we found a spot in Tribunj.

The next morning, after breakfast at the mini-harbour, we drove to Sibenik. A parking space was quickly found. The good thing is that here in Croatia you don't have to pay for parking 90% of the time. Except during the high season, June-September, you have to pay. The 10-minute walk was done quickly and we could take a leisurely look at the city in the morning. Cute alleyways, a great view over the city and the vastness of the sea. We looked at the AirBnB apartment where we slept back then and enjoyed the sun.

Around noon we drove to Camp Solaris, not far from Sibinik. We will stay here for 2-3 nights, recharge our batteries and then head towards Split.

We wish you a happy Easter with a few pleasant days off.
