On Monday, I went to work for the first time. I stood near the meeting point because the car needed some time to start in the cold temperatures a few days before, and I didn't want to risk not being able to get to work because of a dead battery. I went to bed early so that I would be awake when I got up. However, I was woken up at two o'clock by birds making a lot of noise in the field next to my car. I got up at six o'clock and got ready. At 7:30, I registered at the meeting point, received instructions, and was taken to the vineyard. There, I met Tas, who showed me where I would be working and what I had to do. The work is fine, a bit tiring, but fun. The task is to pull out two-meter posts from the ground. First, you have to pull the wires for the grapevines aside and then lever the posts out of the ground with a 13-kilogram crowbar. The posts are then put on the trailer of a small off-road vehicle and transported away. We took a break at noon, and we finished at 3:30 p.m. After work, I did my laundry and went to bed at 9:30 p.m.
The next day, I woke up naturally at 5:30 a.m. without feeling tired. I got ready, drove to work, and worked. The work went well. We are expected to achieve 10 posts per hour per person and 60/person per day. We had already reached the goal by lunchtime. After that, we worked a bit more slowly. We finished at 4 p.m. The work is good, especially being outdoors all day is refreshing, but my wrists hurt a lot from all the prying with the crowbar. I also had bruises on my hands. In the evening, I had dinner and went to bed.
