Didn't I mention yesterday that we would adapt to the Aussies in terms of morning activities?
What do I care about my words from yesterday.
Sleeping a bit longer and having a nice breakfast is really nice. But that also has its price. Around 10:30 am, we decided to move the car, because since sunrise, the sun has been beating down on our mobile home, heating it up constantly and unbearably. Our air conditioner is really working hard. It's already 40 degrees outside. So what to do this day - lazing by the pool, reading a good book, sipping a coffee or going for a hike? Well, I found the pool the most attractive, but then we decided to go for a little 5 km walk. After all, we don't have to fly far and pay so much money to lie by the pool. The season pass for the family at the Lauenau swimming pool costs only 70€.
So put on your hiking clothes, grabbed our hiking poles and up the mountain we go. After all, we want to come home fit. A little uphill, walk along the ridge and, thank God, if you've walked up, you also have to walk down again. After 2 liters of water and 2 hours later, it was amazing that there was still water in the pool after we jumped in and it didn't evaporate immediately. Wow, it was hot.
A boat tour at sunset, with dinner, through the canyons of Katherine was supposed to compensate us for the hardships. That's what we thought. It seems others thought the same and thought... earlier.
So we only had the 2:00 pm tour without dinner, but with scorching heat and blazing sun.
Not everyone has that. And because it's so hot here and the river doesn't have enough water, we had to walk about 500 meters and change boats in between. Nevertheless, it was impressive.
Then cool off again in the pool and have a hot hair dryer BBQ.
Great day.
