The Uluru (Ayers Rock) is much bigger than I imagined. The base walk is 9 km long. This is the sanctuary for the indigenous tribes around Uluru. For tribes in other areas of Australia, it has no significance.
There were many stories to hear about what happened at this mountain. Many places were not allowed to be photographed out of respect for history.
Since 1985, the land around Uluru has been returned to the local Aborigines. Although they have leased the national park area for 99 years, they have a significant say in on-site changes.
The same applies to Kata-Tjuta (the Olgas).
