This and That

Publicatu: 30.06.2023

Today was a real "This and That" day. We started walking in the opposite direction of Amed. We found it a little cleaner and tidier than the other direction. There were more warungs (restaurants) and shops along the way. The road led us to Jemeluk, another district of Amed, different from where we live. We took a break at a dive shop that also had a warung. After observing and discussing for a while, we decided to book a dive course immediately. However, not there, but at a German dive school.

So, we went to the dive school where we had been a few days ago for snorkeling. Sophie, a very nice girl from Karlsruhe, explained everything to us. After a few minutes, I saw a puppy lying under her couch. Ella, as Sophie called her, apparently wandered into the dive shop a few days ago. She was 5-6 weeks old and very lively. Love at first sight... that's probably how you can describe it. Sophie told us that everyone in the shop and the owner probably couldn't take her in. But what good was that... we couldn't either 😞. So, we scheduled the dive trip for tomorrow and had a lot of fun doing it. Maybe a little bit of butterflies in the stomach (at least for me). But I really wanted to see the underwater paradise.

In the afternoon at 3 pm, we had a date with Kamang. We were going out to sea to fish on his boat with his cousin. 🤣 The first hour was very nice and pleasant, but just pleasant. You could also say it was boring. The cousin even caught a fish, but he didn't know what it was. In the end, it turned out that the fish would have been poisonous for us. We were out for a total of 3 hours, and in the evening we had a BBQ with Kamang. His mother had prepared snapper, tuna, rice, a coconut bean salad, satay skewers with peanut sauce, and a spicy Balinese sauce for us. It was really nice and cozy. We ate on a wooden table nailed together. Our "ceiling lighting" was hung on a tripod. It was a battery-powered light bulb 🤣. But nonetheless, it was really cozy and super delicious. Typical Balinese.

At 9:30 pm, we sat on our terrace, had some drinks, lit incense sticks, and talked about our great day. We went to bed relatively early... after all, we were going to the diving paradise tomorrow morning 🤿🐟🌊🤩
