We spent Saturday at the Lonely Beach again with Stephan. It was his last day in Thailand. To say goodbye, we went to the Rastaview Bar in the evening and took a 'nice' farewell photo.
The following day was not so pleasant... Annika and I wanted to ride the scooter to Khlong Prao Beach, which we had extended for 2 days the day before.
Unfortunately, on the way there, we had a little scooter accident. There is a section of the road with two consecutive sharp curves that go uphill. The vehicles coming from the top have to stop and let the others (us) go up first, as you get onto the opposite lane in the sharp curve.
But if the vehicles don't stop and a scooter comes towards you, which doesn't even pretend to brake, and you panic and try to avoid it, you might end up flying headfirst with the scooter.
Fortunately, nothing happened to us except for a little shock, but the scooter had a few scratches on the side, which worried us a lot.
On the internet and elsewhere, we were always told that the Thais would demand a lot of money even for small scratches. So we went to the tourist police and a workshop to calm our minds. Only the sticker was scratched and it shouldn't cost more than 13€ to repair.
When we returned the scooter 2 days later, we even paid significantly less. Luck in misfortune.
