Now we have been at our second Workaway job for 1 1/2 weeks already. There is not much to report, but I thought I would still write an interim report. Last weekend we were in Malaga, where Sebastian had a spontaneous performance at a small festival. We then spent some time in Marbella, the city of the rich and famous, which nevertheless has a manageable, winding and charming old town.
It's terrible how animals are treated in Spain. Hunting takes place here every Sunday, and for this, the hunters get hunting dogs, mostly Spanish Podencos. If these dogs do not come back or are too old, they are simply abandoned. The Podencos are so worthless here that they usually don't even get names, even if the owner has other dogs with names. You can expect to find abandoned dogs at any time here... We really enjoy being surrounded by so many dogs and cats with our hosts here. Unfortunately, we don't do any work here that we can learn from. Most of the time it just involves cleaning and chopping wood. We don't feel really satisfied here and are already looking for a new position. Meanwhile, it's getting a bit too cold here in southern Spain to spend the whole day outside or in the car, so we hope to find a new position right after December 22nd. Even if it might be a bit strange, spending Christmas with strangers : D
