I had a call from the "Lost Luggage" during the night - the bike and luggage came on the last flight from Munich. You can track it quite well on the internet, by the way.
Everything was delivered to the hotel by 8:00 a.m. That worked out commendably.
So I had breakfast, assembled my bike, put on my cycling underpants and then set off. It was uphill a lot and along the coastal road. Since there is no longer a motorway in the area, all the heavy goods traffic drives through here and cyclists don't like that at all. So a large part of my route is "island hopping" by bike and ferry. Coastal road only if there is no other option.
Dubrovnik... It said in the travel guide, "questionable". Certainly beautiful but overcrowded with tourists. I've only seen anything similar in Venice. The question is when they will charge 5 euros for entry. Lots of cruise ships, loads of buses, I only went in briefly, didn't want to leave my bike and luggage alone for so long. Crowds, impossible with a bike.
So, now I'm on the Peljesac peninsula, on a campsite right by the sea under old olive trees. The transition from the mainland to the peninsula is the area where the good Croatian oysters are grown. The wine from the peninsula is also said to be very good. Unfortunately, everything is still closed here at the campsite, but I still have a red wine, sponsored by Lufthansa....
I'll get back to you tomorrow... if the battery and network are good....
