Just returned from an incredible winter journey through Vienna, Budapest, and Bratislava! 🇦🇹🇭🇺🇸🇰

Each city felt like a well-maintained museum, with a deep respect for history and architecture.

Where I went & What I did:
Vienna: Explored the imperial Schönbrunn Palace and stood in awe of St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
Budapest: The views from Fisherman’s Bastion overlooking the Parliament Building were breathtaking, and the 'Shoes on the Danube' was a moving experience. The city is flawlessly clean, and they are constantly renovating to keep the history alive.
Bratislava: A charming 'hidden gem.' I loved wandering the Old Town lanes and seeing the view from Bratislava Castle

The Food & Shops:

I indulged in traditional Wiener Schnitzel in Austria and warm Apple Strudel in Budapest. The shops and local markets were filled with artisan crafts, though be prepared—museum entry fees and Christmas market treats can get expensive! My Honest Takeaways:
  • The Vibe: The Christmas crowds are much quieter than in India. People gather peacefully to eat, chat, and head home early.
  • The Challenges: The winter cold is intense; being outside all day is a struggle! Also, the constant smell of cigarette smoke in public spaces was quite surprising. 🚬❄️
  • Practical Tips: Carry CASH. Unlike the cashless society in Sweden, these cities (especially Germany/Austria) expect cash, and you'll need €1 coins just to use the toilets!"
