Hamburg January 8/9, 2023

On Sunday, January 8th, we started our journey with the German railway from Badischer Bahnhof Basel. Somehow, there was a glitch: the train arrived on time in Basel and reached Hamburg with a two-minute delay. We were disappointed: there was simply nothing to complain about.

In the afternoon, we checked in at the Hotel Atlantic, where Udo Lindenberg also resides. It is an upscale hotel, but there is also a shortage of skilled workers: the gala dinner was very good, but the service, including breakfast, was abysmal.

In the afternoon on Monday, the check-in for the Queen Victoria took place. Everything went smoothly, except that it took forever. Then we settled into our cabin, unpacked everything, and explored the most important rooms on the ship. After the frugal dinner ;-) we are now on our balcony, looking out at the passing buildings, facilities, and landscapes. It is about 100km to the North Sea.
