Sensational!

Mui Ne, the place I am currently in, doesn't really have much to offer. It stretches along the coast for kilometers. Shop after shop or restaurants, resorts, booking shops, workshops of all kinds, and more. Everyone naturally has a more or less big, colorful advertising sign in front of, next to, or above their shack. Sometimes it's really hard to even recognize who is offering what or to keep track of which level of the street you are actually on. You can't see the forest for the signs ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ... but that's beside the point.

It's a place to relax. Whether on the beach, in a "local", or at the pool of a hotel, hostel, or whatever. And since I will be walking my feet off in the big cities Kuala Lumpur and Singapore from next week, it's just perfect.

On the other hand, unlike the somewhat monotonous place, the landscape in the surrounding areas is very cool, which I saw today for hours with a private driver and his worn-out army jeep. Because here, about 40 km away, there are dunes, which you actually wouldn't expect in this palm-overgrown region. Some are red, others are white. Or strangely enchanted river landscapes.

If you are lucky enough to have a blue sky, the whole thing looks pretty "awesome" ... sorry, but that's just the way it is.

However, the "river" has to be somewhat relativized with a water depth of 1-10 cm. The interesting thing, though, was that the current was relatively "strong" and this little river formed the road or promenade of the huts and shops on the shore.

The highlight of the little trip was ... by the way, a great driver, as he actually asked for my passport because he didn't believe that old Daddy was already over 40 ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ˜˜ ... where was I? Oh yeah ... the highlight today, however, was not the somewhat bizarre stream, but riding a 4-wheel quad over the dunes. No, I didn't drive myself. I wasn't allowed to. And it was only for 10 minutes, but it was really, really good ... . Especially when it went almost vertically down from the "crest" of the dune. The drivers, I suspect none of them older than 18, are all a bit crazy. Especially when they don't have any customers. Of course, it was completely overpriced, but worth every dollar or dong ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘Œ.

P.S.: Speaking of "40" ... No, I didn't bribe my jeep driver with money. And no, he didn't just want to be nice to an older gentleman. That's not what it was. He wanted ... yeah, well ... it was about his tip. But for a moment, I believed him ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ ... and that was even worth 20,000 dong to me ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜€. Good deal.
