Let's go to Kilkenny

I am at the airport at 7.10h. Nothing is happening and the check-in is not open. There doesn't seem to be a bag drop. The mystery of online check-in for the purpose of saving time remains unsolved. Why should one be at the airport 2.5-3 hours before departure if you have to wait at the counter until 2 hours before departure and then rush to the security? The check-in opens relatively punctually, online check-in was pointless, as there is a new paper boarding pass. 🙈.

We arrive in Kilkenny around 16.30h, the drive from the airport took just under 2 hours and led through empty motorways to the medieval town.

We have a cozy room above a pub. The pub is almost in the center of the small old town.

We stroll through the streets and enjoy the colorful shops. After getting up at 5am in Germany, we arrive at 18h for an early dinner and a delicious Red Ale from Smithwicks, the brewery from Kilkenny.

Back at the hotel/pub, we discuss our plans for tomorrow and have a nightcap downstairs.
